It does not need ownership of your invention.
This page explains the difference in plain language. The complete legal terms remain available in the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Your Data Rights.

What remains yours.
As between you and AetherForge, you retain your ownership rights in the content you bring into the platform.
That includes your invention descriptions, conversations, notes, sketches, images, recordings, files, specifications, test results, research, and other project material.
Using AetherForge does not transfer ownership of your invention to AetherForge.
What about material AetherForge generates?
AetherForge may help generate text, images, diagrams, summaries, research leads, recommendations, and documents specifically for you.
To the extent permitted by law and subject to third-party rights, AetherForge assigns to you any rights it may have in those outputs.
AI-generated material may not always be original, exclusive, copyrightable, patentable, protectable, or free of third-party rights. Outputs should be reviewed and verified before you rely upon, publish, manufacture, sell, or file anything based on them.
The permission AetherForge needs.
To operate the platform, you give AetherForge a limited license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, display, modify, and otherwise process your content.
That permission allows AetherForge to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service for you
- Generate the documents and features you request
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with law and enforce the Terms of Service
- Perform other processing you separately authorize
The license is non-exclusive and royalty-free.
It lasts while AetherForge holds your content and ends when that content is deleted from active systems, subject to backups, legal holds, legal obligations, dispute preservation, and properly anonymized information described in the Privacy Policy.
It does not make AetherForge the owner of your invention.
Private by default.
Your invention projects are private by default.
AetherForge does not make your project content public unless you direct or authorize a sharing or disclosure feature.
AetherForge personnel are not permitted to casually browse private invention content. Authorized personnel may access information when reasonably necessary for support you request, security, safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or reliable platform operation.
That access is governed by role-based permissions and auditing.
No online platform can guarantee absolute confidentiality or security. AetherForge should not be treated as a substitute for an NDA, patent-filing strategy, trade-secret program, export-control review, or advice from qualified counsel.
How outside services are involved.
AetherForge uses service providers and subprocessors to operate features such as AI processing, transcription, image generation, web search, hosting, storage, authentication, payments, email, and support.
When you request one of these features, AetherForge may send the provider the information reasonably needed to perform it. Depending on the feature, that may include your prompt, relevant conversation or project context, files, images, audio, search terms, or extracted text.
The current categories and providers are listed on the Subprocessors page.
Your content is not shared with other inventors unless you choose to disclose it.
Your invention is not AI training material.
AetherForge does not use private invention content to train AetherForge or third-party general-purpose AI models.
Its API-based AI provider does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models.
AetherForge may use aggregate or properly de-identified information to understand and improve the service. That information is not used to reconstruct or disclose private invention content.
AetherForge does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
You control what leaves the platform.
You decide when to export, download, publish, send, or otherwise share your invention material.
Once you disclose information to another person or service, how they handle it may be outside AetherForge’s control.
Think carefully before publicly disclosing an invention. Public disclosure may affect patent rights or filing deadlines. A qualified patent attorney can advise you about your specific situation.
What you can request.
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may ask AetherForge to:
- Give you access to eligible information
- Export eligible information in a commonly used format
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete or anonymize eligible personal information and project content
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis
- Appeal a denied privacy request where applicable
Self-service export and deletion controls are available under Account Preferences → Your Data.
You may also email legal@afcopilot.com with the subject Privacy Request.
AetherForge must verify the identity or authority of the person making the request before providing sensitive exports or deleting data.
Cancellation and deletion are different.
Canceling a subscription does not delete the account or its invention content.
Deleting the account requires a separate confirmation process under Account Preferences → Your Data → Delete.
Deletion may remove information, anonymize identifiers, or break the connection between you and records that must lawfully remain. Some information may be retained for legal obligations, fraud and security prevention, transaction integrity, disputes, legal claims, legal holds, or until isolated backups are overwritten through their normal lifecycle.
Because deletion may permanently remove invention history, exports, and provenance, consider exporting your account first.
The plain-language promise.
Your invention does not become AetherForge’s invention because you developed it here.
The permission required to operate the platform is not a transfer of ownership.
Private invention content is not sold, used for targeted advertising, or used to train general-purpose AI models.
You remain responsible for deciding what to upload, what to share, and when to involve qualified professionals.
If this plain-language explanation and the controlling legal documents ever appear inconsistent, the legal documents control—and we want you to tell us.
